The 2012 Air Force District of Washington Air Force Assistance Fund drive wraps up April 20 with a capstone event - Give a Dollar Day.

Each key worker will visit their units on the final day of the AFAF campaign to collect a dollar in cash from all who are willing to contribute. Everyone can donate, including those who have already contributed and/or those who have not been able to.

"It is only one dollar, easily affordable, and the key worker will even fill in the form for you," said Maj. Michelle Marker, AFAF lead project officer.

The command succeeded this year in passing its $79,890 goal. However, in true AFDW spirit, AFAF key workers are providing an opportunity for AFDW to finish with a bang.

"We are hoping to raise more than last year, which was $105,072.37," said Barker. Currently, AFDW and its subordinate units have contributed $91,399 towards the 2012 AFAF campaign.

AFAF key workers will contact personnel from AFDW headquarters, 11th Wing, 79th Medical Wing, 844th Communications Group, and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling on April 20 to so they can take advantage of Give a Dollar Day and donate to AFAF.
