CAPTAIN ALEXANDER J STANTON

Capt. Alexander J. Stanton is the flight commander, U.S. Air Force Drill Team, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. As a traveling component of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, the USAF Drill Team and Stanton promote the Air Force mission in the National Capital Region and around the world by showcasing drill performances at public and military venues to recruit, retain and inspire Airmen. The team performs drill movements with fully-functional M-1 rifles in intricate, constantly changing formations. His unit also supports the Air Force Recruiting Service as the official Ambassadors in Blue. He is responsible for 32 ceremonial guardsmen competitively selected for the team, as well as participating in their intricate drill performances. Stanton oversees operations and the team training program.

Prior to leading the USAF Drill Team, Stanton conferred full honors to fallen service members and head dignitaries at Arlington National Cemetery. He also represented the Air Force in the NCR at the White House, Pentagon, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Air Force Memorial.

Before the USAF Honor Guard, Stanton was the flight commander, 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. He was responsible for the physical security of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile systems. Stanton also served as the operations officer for the Security Forces Regional Training Center, Camp Guernsey, Wyo.

Stanton graduated with honors from Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero, La. He commissioned through Detachment 310, AFROTC upon graduation from Louisiana State University, La.
