Senior Master Sergeant MICHAEL J. DOSS

Senior Master Sgt. Michael J. Doss is the United States Air Force Honor Guard First Sergeant, Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, Washington, D.C. He is the commander’s principal advisor on personnel matters affecting the 286 Ceremonial Guardsmen chosen to represent all members, past and present, of the United States Air Force, providing funeral honors at Arlington National Cemetery and performing in ceremonies throughout the National Capital Region and around the world. Senior Master Sergeant Doss advises the commander on all matters regarding the health, morale, welfare and discipline for all enlisted, officer and civilian personnel and their families. He advises members on personnel programs, family needs, financial matters and professional military education. He also enforces compliance with Air Force Core Values, standards of conduct and military professionalism.

Senior Master Sgt. Doss enlisted in the Air Force in February 2002. He attended the Heavy Aircraft Maintenance technical training school at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas and graduated in July 2002. His experience is varied throughout the aircraft maintenance community. His airframe background includes B-1 and C-130J aircraft. He also served as a Ceremonial Guardsman in the United States Air Force Honor Guard, culminating as the Flight Chief for the Honor Guard Drill Team. He has deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and with the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. His assignments include bases in Texas, Washington, D.C. and Germany.

Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Pentagon and worldwide mission First Sergeant, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
